B2B

Stark. Hard hitting.

Shocking. Sanitized gore.

Predictable.

Run off the mill.

From Satya to Company to D... and now Sarkar, RGV first evolved into a classy film-maker and then mutated back into the mundane.

Sacrilegious it might have been, but I wouldn't have minded watching a Hindi remake of The Godfather. Amitabh Bachchan is probably the closest we could get to Marlon Brando.

But The Factory decides to make a cover version, that just doesn't feel right. It becomes over-adapted to the Mumbai underworld, has an overbearing political angle and too many caricature-like villians. Predictable & at times boring. And a jarring background score.

Abhishek Bachchan doesn't speak more than three words at a time. His want for acting skills are disguised by the brooding look. KayKay Menon is the saving grace. Just like in Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi, he manages to convey lust, weakness & wrath.

Should've watched Paheli :-)
