Explorers, not Tourists

Perfect month so far.
Slept, ate (yes).
Wove in a bit of Aerobics and Yoga everyday (to make peace with conscience).
Trying to learn to cook.
Watching crappy movies.

And went on the most amazing Hindi Moviesque holiday ever.

Reading a lot.
Forgetting how to write.

So, pictures and half-sentences come to aid.
DJ, A, D & V... my fellow-explorers (not tourists) - thanks for a perfect week - quiet, simple and extremely satisfying.

Chai Time with DJ-ji

Deep in Hindi heartland.
In a sleepy town called Jabalpur.
She plays the perfect hostess, quintessentially Yash Chopra.
Comparisons are drawn Rani Mukherjee.
We giggle away.
DJ, you rock.

The Safari Sextet

Braving the wild in an open jeep.
Braving the sun with a diaphanous chunni.
Armed with cameras.
Armed with a Nokia N-70.
We set out to conquer the jungle.
And to see a streak of Orange and White on a hunt.

A Wild Life at Kanha

Instead.
We see deer.
Some Spotted. Some Horned. Some Brown. Some Gray.
Some x 4 = Too Many Deer
A Gaur crosses the trail.
So does a wild boar.
Peacock. Monkey. Anthill.
No Ka. No Baloo.
Boo.
There are tigers half-a-mile away.
The untrained eye manages, but not too well.
The more imaginative of us imagine tigers growl :P

In dark times

When the day has slipped past.
With purpose unfulfilled.
Food can be the only comfort.
Unfaithful to the diet.
We feast on our buttered prey in a dhaba.

Fortune favors the Explorers

And we spot him.
5 metres away.
Sated.
The remains of prey, not too far away.
Sleeping.
With an ear and an eye always open.
Whoopee.

Fun and Games

Quite literally so.
Pajamas.
Pictionary.
Charades and Cards.
Emran Hashmi.
Ooh... John.
Will there ever be time to do this again?

Fall Collection

The Narmada is divine.
Even for the agnostics.
Marble rocks and myths.
Ghats and the Dhuandhar.
A tribute is paid to Kareena Kapoor.

A la Grillé

By the Barbeque.
Flames licking the darkness of the night.
A hand a cooking.
But not for long.
The air is rich
With food that smells divine.
Even for an agnostic.

The Graduate

A quiet and beautiful ending to an amazing two years.
Are you trying to seduce me Mr. Second MBA?
